- To increase knowledge about post-traumatic stress disorder and/or post-traumatic symptoms and their correlation with inflammation;
- To present the construct of brain-heart interplay;
- To reflect together on how brain-heart interplay and inflammation could open up new research areas to better understand the pathogenetic and therapeutic mechanisms of post-traumatic stress disorder.

- Brief clinical and theoretical background to align participants with psychodiagnostic, phenomenological and therapeutic knowledge on post-traumatic stress disorder and post-traumatic symptoms;
- Correlation with inflammation: what we know to date;
- Brain-heart interplay: description and role in clinical psychology research;
- Changes in the brain-heart interplay following trauma-focused psychotherapy in breast cancer patients: presentation of the results of a preliminary study.

- The final assessment will be the writing of an abstract linking the research area of each participant to the topics covered.
