Course objectives
The objective of this course is to give to the students an overview on the classical histological
techniques for the analysis of tissue samples- Oggetto:

- Histological preparation for light and electron microscopy: Fixation and preservation, embedding and sectioning of a tissue sample
- Staining techniques: traditional staining methods and their respective applications
- Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence
- Observation methods: Light, fluorescence, confocal and electron microscopy
- Main limitations of histological techniques
